Dierks Bentley fans, rejoice! On Wednesday, the hitmaker announced the release of his ninth album, The Mountain. In a new radio interview, Bentley revealed that he and his co-writers trekked out to Telluride, Colorado, to make the record, which gave it the “western feel” he wanted. “What I said to the musicians was, ’Look around you. Look at the mountains,’” he says. “’I can’t verbalize this. Just go for a hike, take the gondola, get some coffee, walk around town, take in the vibe of this location. That’s what I need you to make the record sound like.’” Bentley also premiered a snippet of a new song, that indeed feels like big-sky, old-school country. The Mountain is due out in later 2018.
