Well this is a move in the right direction… United Airline had a huge fiasco not to long ago where they overbooked a flight and forcibly removed a passenger who refused to get off the plane. Now Delta is going to MAKE SURE you volunteer to give up your seat because they will now offer passengers almost $10,000 in compensation to give up their seats on overbooked flight. In an internal memo obtained by The Associated Press, Delta says that gate agents can offer up to $2,000 in compensation (up from a previous maximum of $800) and supervisors can offer up to a whopping $9,950 (up from $1,350). Meanwhile, United says it is reviewing its compensation policies. It has confirmed, however, that it will now require employees seeking a seat on a plane to book it at least an hour before departure.
