TAYLOR SWIFT and KENNY CHESNEY wrote checks to help those affected by the Tennessee wildfires. Taylor matched a $100,000 donation from ACM Lifting Lives . . . and Kenny contributed $250,000 on a match from Country Music Association.
Kenny Chesney and the Country Music Association (CMA) have teamed up to make a $500,000 donation to assist families affected by recent wildfires in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Chesney and the CMA each contributed $250,000 for the cause, with a portion of those proceeds earmarked for Dolly Parton’s My People Fund, which provides $1,000 each month to Sevier County families who lost their homes in the wildfires.
Kenny — a native of East Tennessee – has been a vocal supporter of the ongoing relief efforts in the area, and he’ll do everything in his power to help those affected by the wildfires. Chesney says, “It is devastating to think of what’s been lost in terms of the fire, but overwhelming for the families facing rebuilding their lives – in many cases – from scratch.”
Dolly and several other performers will take part in the Smoky Mountains Rise: A Benefit for the My People Fund telethon tomorrow
