After it was released earlier in the week that Michael Buble’s son, Noah, has been diagnoed with cancer, his sister-in-law talks with the media in regards to her 3 year old nephew, and his full diagnosis…

In an interview with the Spanish-language magazine Gente [HEN-tay], Daniela Lopilato says Noah has liver cancer and must undergo four months of chemotherapy, with the possibility of surgery as a follow-up.

Cancer is a horrible disease, but we have faith that Noah will succeed. We know [this]. It is time to start a treatment that will be long and very hard, but it is necessary…They say that children are usually strong [enough] to withstand chemotherapy … and my nephew is a warrior.” She told Gente Magazine. She says it all started October 25 when Noah spiked a fever.  Michael and his wife Luisana took him to the doctor, where they ran quite a few tests on his to figure out the issue. Those tests included an ultrasound, which revealed a spot on his liver.  The couple then took Noah to California, where specialists continued testing the boy and did a liver biopsy.  On November 1, the diagnosis of liver cancer was confirmed.

The light in this long dark tunnel is that this type of childhood cancer has a 90% cure rate, (according to the magazine). So far, a family friend tells the magazine that Noah is tolerating the treatment very well.

On November 4, Michael and Luisana issued a statement about Noah’s condition and this is what was posted on the singers facebook page:

“Michael and Luisana confirm son Noah’s illness:

“We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US. We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children. Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well. At this difficult time, we ask only for your prayers and respect for our privacy. We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing.””
